“One of the things that was so satisfying about ‘Civil War’ was, of course, the Black Panther,” shared Feige. “People came out of that movie going, ‘I want to know more about that character.’”

Feige added, “Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created Black Panther in the early ’60s and he’s been a staple of Marvel Comics for 50-plus years.”

“He has to look out for an entire nation — that’s a responsibility that the other super heroes don’t commonly have,” shared Boseman.

Kendrick Lamar has royalty inside his DNA.

As we inch closer towards February 16, we’re pumped to announce that Grammy Award-winning artist Kendrick Lamar and Billboard Magazine’s Executive of the Year Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith will curate and produce “Black Panther: The Album” with music from and inspired by the Marvel Studios film “Black Panther.” We don’t expect anything less for the Wakandan King!

Kendrick Lamar and label mate SZA teamed up for lead single “All the Stars” from the upcoming soundtrack. Listen to the single above and on Spotify here!

Kendrick Lamar is no stranger to “Black Panther” as his single “DNA” was featured in this past San Diego Comic-Con exclusive footage.

Lamar revealed, “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan [Coogler] and Marvel’s vision.”

Lamar and Tiffith will collaborate with critically-acclaimed director Ryan Coogler directly in the creation of music specific to the needs of the film. This will mark the first time that Lamar will write, produce, perform and curate for a major motion picture. This collaboration represents the first time in MCU history that Marvel will integrate multiple original recordings created specifically for the film.

“I am honored to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film. I can’t wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store,” said Coogler, who hand-picked Lamar for this first film music collaboration.

Lamar continued, “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.”

Top Dawg added, “Working on such a powerful movie is a great opportunity. We’re always working on new goals at TDE, so teaming up with Disney, Marvel Studios and the Black Panther film makes perfect sense.”

Film features flagship coupe in stunning action original graphic novel designed for Lexus

Today, on the brink of the opening of Comic-Con International: San Diego, Lexus and Marvel have announced a collaboration to pair the first-ever 2018 Lexus LC with Marvel’s dynamic Black Panther character in the highly anticipated film, Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, slated to hit theaters on Feb. 16, 2018.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, and starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o, the film follows T’Challa, who, after the events of Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King.

“Marvel continuously captures audiences through charismatic characters and inspiring stories — the ideal fit for Lexus’ mission to craft amazing, engaging experiences,” said Brian Bolain general manager, Lexus marketing. “And the LC’s aggressive styling, high performance and agile handling are a perfect fit for the Black Panther’s quick, cat-like reflexes and superhuman feats. We’re excited to see the duo in action.”

To accompany the collaboration between Lexus and Marvel, Lexus also teamed with Marvel Custom Solutions to create an original graphic novel, with storytelling driven by famed writer Fabian Nicieza and cover illustrations by emerging graphic artists Scott “Rahzzah” Wilson and Szymon Kudranski. Centered around the balance between human and machine, the comic features the Lexus LC 500 with a new, Wakandan spin and its role in helping the Black Panther defeat a legendary villain.

Lexus and Marvel will celebrate their collaboration during Comic-Con after-hours at an exclusive Black Panther-themed event on Friday, July 21, with special performances by DJ Lulo Café and a surprise headliner. During the invite-only event, six variant covers for the graphic novel will be revealed to industry guests and comic enthusiasts.

“This campaign clicked from the get-go,” said Mindy Hamilton, Marvel’s SVP of global partnerships. “We have this bold, sophisticated hero stepping into the spotlight for the first time, and it’s been a blast to work with the Lexus team to build out a story that’ll familiarize fans with T’Challa as well as his advanced home nation of Wakanda.”

Lexus’ collaboration with Marvel is being coordinated by Lexus’ multicultural advertising agency, Walton Isaacson.

Ushering in a new era of design and engineering at Lexus, the LC 500 is expressive and stylish, with enhanced dynamic capability and performance. Additional information on the flagship coupe can be found here.
