Explore the origins of Black Panther and Wakanda in a brand new featurette for Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther,” arriving in theaters February 16.

In the featurette above, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, the legendary Stan Lee, director Ryan Coogler and actor Chadwick Boseman give you a special look at the Wakandan King’s comic book origins on the page to his journey on screen in the upcoming “Black Panther.”

“One of the things that was so satisfying about ‘Civil War’ was, of course, the Black Panther,” shared Feige. “People came out of that movie going, ‘I want to know more about that character.’”

Feige added, “Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created Black Panther in the early ’60s and he’s been a staple of Marvel Comics for 50-plus years.”

“He has to look out for an entire nation — that’s a responsibility that the other super heroes don’t commonly have,” shared Boseman.

Avengers and more assembled on the Hall D23 stage at D23 Expo!

Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President, took the stage at the Disney Live Action Films panel in Hall D23 at D23 Expo where he shared he’s a massive Disney fan and has been a card-carrying D23 charter member who has been attending D23 Expo since the very first Expo in 2009.

Feige shared that 2018 will be a year of celebration as Marvel Studios celebrates its 10th anniversary. Headlining the big year will be Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War,” which Feige called “the biggest production in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

“Avengers: Infinity War” has been in production the entire year so far, and has only hit the half-way mark! Feige invited all your favorite super heroes — and the biggest villain the MCU has seen so far — to take the stage with him. The Marvelous gathering included Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Benedict Cumberbatch (Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange), Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa/Black Panther), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Don Cheadle (James Rhodes/War Machine), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Dave Bautista (Drax), Karen Gillan (Nebula), and Pom Klementieff (Mantis), as well as half of the film’s directors, Joe Russo.
