Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging. The network has ordered ten one-hour episodes slated to debut early 2018. “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito and J.D. Evermore. The series is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios. Joe Pokaski (“Underground,” “Heroes”) serve as showrunner and executive producer; Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s The Punisher,” “Marvel’s The Defenders”), Marvel’s head of Television, and Jim Chory (“Marvel’s The Punisher,” “Marvel’s The Defenders”) also serve as executive producers. It's hammer time for Frank Castle in this new look at the upcoming series coming to Netflix.

Fans excited for “Marvel’s The Punisher” will definitely want to check out a new teaser, titled “Demolition,” which includes new footage from the upcoming series.

Take a look at Frank Castle showing off his skills with a sledgehammer, along with tantalizing glimpses of what to expect when “Marvel’s The Punisher” debuts on Netflix later in 2017.

Steve Lightfoot (“Hannibal”) wrote the series’ first two episodes in addition to serving as showrunner and Executive Producer. The new animated series debuts Saturday, August 19 on Disney XD.

“Marvel’s Spider-Man” makes its debut this Saturday on Disney XD, and we’ve got new casting news for the latest animated incarnation of everyone’s favorite wall-crawler! Disney star Cameron Boyce (“Descendants,” “Jessie”) will make a vocal guest appearance on the series, in the episode airing Saturday, August 26 at 7:00am ET/PT.

Boyce will voice Herman Shultz, a driven young scientist who creates new, wearable technology with his best friend Clayton Cole. Herman is the inventor of “gauntlets” which can control vibrations – and his alter-ego, Shocker, is very familiar to longtime Spider-Man fans.

In the episode, titled “Osborn Academy,” Herman is attempting to be accepted into the prestigious new Osborn Academy, a school for geniuses. This ends up pitting him against Clayton, leading to the two battling it out for a coveted spot at the school.

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist join forces on Friday, August 18th!

With “Marvel’s The Defenders” debuting on Netflix this Friday, the final trailer has been unleashed for the series. Fans have been waiting to see Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist join forces, and the new trailer gives you plenty of highlights as the four heroes try and work together – despite some personality conflicts.

Of course, any heroic group needs a formidable antagonist and as the trailer shows, “Marvel’s The Defenders” has a very notable one in the form of Alexandra, played by the iconic Sigourney Weaver.

The star and creators of the new animated series on what to expect and what their influences are.

With the show debuting this coming Saturday, Marvel, Disney XD and ASIFA/the International Animated Film Society hosted a special screening of “Marvel’s Spider-Man” this week, followed by a Q&A with Cort Lane (SVP, Animation & Family Entertainment), Marsha Griffin (VP, Animation Development & Production), Eric Radomski (SVP, Production), Kevin Shinick (Supervising Producer), and Robbie Daymond (Voice of Spider-Man).

Here’s what we learned about the new animated series!

Finding the New Spider-Man
When Daymond auditioned for “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” the series was using a code name and alternate character names. Daymond joked that when he got the call from his agent telling him that not only had he got the part, but in fact, “That was Spider-Man. You’re Spider-Man!” he promptly passed out.

Years ago, Daymond had in fact auditioned to play Spider-Man in “Ultimate Spider-Man” and nearly got the role. Lane mentioned that while they decided he wasn’t quite right for that particular version of Spider-Man, when they were casting “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” “You were automatically going to come in, because we knew you were so close last time.”

Daymond said he’s always been a big Spider-Man fan and that he felt the character had elements that made him highly relatable, including, “Feeling like an outsider and struggling to make ends meet.”

Ongoing Storylines
Discussing how much the show will have continuing storylines, Shinick explained, “We have a lot of arcs. It is serialized in a way.” He added, “It’s a cliché to say, but no matter what you’re doing, it’s the relationships that are important.” The show will track the dynamic between Peter and those he’s close to.

Shinick said that on “Marvel’s Spider-Man” they weren’t spending much time on romantic relationships but rather on friendships and family bonds and how Peter’s double life as Spider-Man makes things tricky. For instance, Griffin explained, “Gwen and Anya have different relationships with Peter and Spider-Man. They [each] feel differently about one half.”

Homages to the Comics
Shinick said that the core of “Marvel’s Spider-Man” comes from the Stan Lee, Steve Ditko era, and that while updates can and should be made to the story, “We wanted those core values.”

Dan Slott is a consulting producer on the series, and his Spider-Man comic book inclusion of Horizon Labs was reconceived into a school, called Horizon, on the series. There will be elements from older stories used as well, along with many nods fans will appreciate. Radomski noted there are times they include, “At least an homage, without directly lifting [what happened in the comics],” saying, “Whenever we can, we have those moments.”

As for adapting bigger story arcs from the comics, Daymond mentioned that several times he’s read a script and asked if a particular story is being set up. He said the response he’ll typically get is a coy, “It might be!” and noted the show “Does a great job of blending all those arcs together.”

The Schools and the Science
As “Marvel’s Spider-Man” begins, Peter Parker has been accepted into the aforementioned school, Horizon. Said Shinick, “We’ve kind of tried to create a Hogwarts situation for science geeks. There’s the public school he’s always gone to [Midtown], but then there’s this magnet school for geniuses.”

Meanwhile, Norman Osborn is creating his own rival school to Horizon, the Osborn Academy, giving the series three different schools as ongoing elements. Shinick said the idea was to introduce “familiar characters as teachers or students.” In some cases, you might see someone start out in a more villainous role and change, while others might start out as seemingly heroic, only to go in a different direction.

Said Shinick, “For me, the intro to this series was science.  Peter’s entry point for everything was through science.” Lane remarked, “Peter’s science smarts is a power in and of itself,” and praised Shinick for focusing on the idea that, “Your intelligence is something you can use to make the world a better place.”

Miles and Gwen
Asked by an audience member if we might see supporting characters Gwen Stacy or Miles Morales become heroes in their own right, like in the comics, Shinick replied, “Would you like that? Because you might be very happy!”

Lane noted Miles and Gwen each have their own arcs, and that as far as them becoming heroes, “The idea is yes, but that takes time.” Lane also revealed, “Miles gets his powers much sooner,” but that things will get complicated for him. As we know, Peter learned a sad lesson about power and responsibility that helped forge him into a hero, but meanwhile, “Miles has a good heart, but he doesn’t have that grounded sense of responsibility that Peter has.”

Daymond said that when the series begins, Peter is still trying to get control over his powers, but later, “He gets to mentor Miles a little bit. That’s a really fun dynamic to play.”

“Marvel’s Spider-Man” will debut with a one-hour premiere on Saturday, August 19th (7:00-8:00 AM EDT), on Disney XD, and on the Disney XD App and VOD (12:01 AM EDT). Stay tuned to Marvel.com for all the latest news and updates on all of your favorite Marvel animated series.

The highly-anticipated series premieres exclusively on Hulu November 21!

While his origins and ultimate intentions are unknown, McMahon will be a pivoltal player in the Runaways’ rebellion against their parents. Congrats to Marvel Animation on their first Emmy nomination!

Thanks to a genetically-enhanced raccoon and a Flora colossus, Marvel Animation has garnered its very first Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Animation Short Form Program.” “Marvel’s Rocket & Groot” features the voice talents Trevor Devall (“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Johnny Test”) as Rocket and Groot is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson (“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Cleveland Show”).

Featuring animation by Oscar-nominated Passion Pictures, the shorts are directed by Arnaud Delord, written by Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Kevin Burke, executive produced by Cara Speller, Alan Fine, Dan Buckley, Joe Quesada, Cort Lane, and co-executive produced by Stephen Wacker and Stan Lee.

We spoke with SVP, Animation & Family Entertainment Cort Lane, as well as writers Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Kevin Burke about what makes the Emmy-nominated “Space Walk” short (above) so very special.

Marvel: This is Marvel Animation’s very first Emmy nomination, how excited were you when you found out the news?

Kevin Burke: I was in a state of denial for a bit, I was waiting for Cort to make the announcement. I was texting Doc, “Is this real, is this a misprint?”

Doc Wyatt: I checked the official Emmy website that has the nominations but I was also waiting to hear from Cort. I stalked his social media.

Cort Lane: I also checked the official Emmy website, then I congratulated the folks at Disney XD. Then it was a flurry (ed: on social media).

Kevin Burke: It’s thrilling!

Marvel: Marvel animated shows all have their own uniquely designed look—I know Skottie Young consulted on the series but the final product almost feels like a loving tribute to the style of Chuck Jones.

Kevin Burke: On the writing side, in terms of coming up with bits and gags, the material is very much inspired by that. We had 90 seconds so it wasn’t so much about big plots, it was about a setup and a payoff and some fun gags, and the Chuck Jones style is very much that as well. So we were looking for comedy in that sense, and visually it went that direction.

Cort Lane: Passion Animation in the U.K. brought in Arnaud Delord, who’s a famous French animation director—well known for the Gorillaz music videos—and in the pitch we expressed being influenced by the Skottie Young style from publishing.

Passion Animation delivered something that had that Chuck Jones looseness and comedic sensibility—which really adapted well to the Skottie Young illustration style—but then rendered it in CG so that it felt really rich. It’s hard to capture that level of expressiveness and squash-and-stretch cartoony quality in CG, so they actually gave us a little animation test which showed us what it might be like and they blew us away. Then we got Skottie Young involved in creating some ancillary characters, but a lot of the baseline stuff was what he had already done in publishing.

Marvel: Not to discount the always amazing voice acting work in Marvel animated shorts, but “Space Walk” was gorgeously done with very little dialogue. Again that’s reminiscent of Saturday morning cartoons and captivating kid’s imaginations, was that the intention?

Kevin Burke: Absolutely, conceptually it was always about the visual nature of them being unable to speak. So from a pitch when we put it together it was: they’re trapped outside, they can’t say anything, they’re pulling everything they can to make it back inside the ship to survive. And so the setup was always there, in fact it was one of the easiest story pitches that we’ve ever done because that framework was there.

Then the fun part was working with the animators and Doc and I writing up gags because there’s so many different gags you can play, all visual. We got a chance to do something that we don’t do that often. In some of our other Marvel shows they’re very story driven with complex villain plots—this was just a moment in time—to play visually with music and sound, it worked out really well and we’re very proud of it.

Doc Wyatt: The director is French and he had his team with him at the story summit, we got up in front of the room and pitched the story idea and they would confer amongst one another in French for a very long time. Of all the stories that we discussed at our story summit, “Space Walk” was particularly well received.

Cort Lane: It was a strong concept from the beginning. I’ve always had a preference for Blue Danube—so I think I suggested it—and then someone said, “That’s waltz music, on their way back to the ship as they’re holding each other spinning back and forth it will look like a waltz.” Which was one of the little payoffs that we did manage to get in there.

Marvel: Fans truly love the space duo of Rocket & Groot.

Cort Lane: Everybody is so pleased with how these came out, they work so well as a duo. And it’s not just because they’re both funny and odd, it’s because their personalities are so distinct and opposites attract in a wonderful way. Rocket is such a strong personality but he needs Groot’s heart to get him to do the right thing a lot of the time.

Kevin Burke: On the writing side it is some of the most fun stuff we’ve ever written and most of that comes from these characters. As Cort said, Rocket is sarcastic and a big character and Groot has heart, but at the end of it, the whole thing has heart to it. It isn’t just about gags and doing the most funny, outrageous thing, these guys actually care about each other and there’s a friendship there and that helps move along any adventure they go on. I think people really relate to that.

Marvel: It’s inevitable to ask about Easter Eggs in these shorts.

Doc Wyatt: In the “Space Walk” short in particular, no. But there are a couple of…the answer is yes, but we’re not going to give them away!

Marvel: How amazing would it be if Groot was to give an Emmy speech?

Doc Wyatt: He wouldn’t need the teleprompter!

Cort Lane: I think it would be more awesome if Rocket did one because he would just yell at everyone!
